“Standing strong at the center of the wheel....drinking in the rich medicine of Earth, elements, and wise wholeness of life from all directions, honoring sacred space on favorite mountain journeys. I am particularly fond of medicine wheel teachings as I’ve been dedicated to them both as a practitioner and as an academic, weaving it in my traditional healing practices as well as conducting research on integrative healing. Like many of us, we are torn between our spiritual selves and the industrialized-mainstream self. Often times we suit up on Monday morning at 9 AM to meet the demands of work and culture that are required to meet the needs of our livelihood. It is easy to get stuck in monotony and routine. It is easier to slip away from the spiritual composition of self in a world that is go go go, busy busy busy, more, more, more. Yet day in and day out I work with people who have a deep hunger for restoring the connection to the matrix of their soul and connectivity to higher self, the great mystery and nature. Since before planes trains and automobiles, humans have developed culturally by paying reverence to the unseen and through taking pause in their life to honor the sacred (cross culturally, cross religion, cross spirituality, even atheists pause to enjoy the science of stars). I am excited to be offering a workshop exploring this craving of balance on the autumn equinox (Sept 22) at Strawberry Hedgehog Soap Shop & Vegan Boutique from 2pm-4:30, Creating Sacred Space. Join us as we learn to create space in the home or office that reminds you of your higher self and a quality of living that is bigger than the constant stressors of practical living. Learn about alters, meditation areas, medicine wheels, intentional gardens, nature art and alters and more. Space fills up quickly so register soon on the Strawberry hedgehog website, underneath the work shop tab.”
